Five ways to make your learning more effective(For Students of all Ages)

Today’s learners seek a learning environment that is not as Obsolete as traditional classrooms but that is specifically engineered to support thinking. They prefer the learning environment that pushes their learning capacity with altering strategies and teaching practices. They want to be a part of an impactful learning setting that provides a sense of achievement while they can be adaptive and interactive with fellow learners as well as instructors. In brief, they want to be active and engaged players throughout the learning course.
A learning environment is a diverse platform where users engage and interact to learn new skills. While learners can learn in an array of settings, the term refers to the more preferred and accurate alternative to the traditional classroom. The term does not pass on a traditional or limited connotation such as a room full of desks and a chalkboard.

1. Set your goals

Setting goals is a great way to keep you focused on what you want to achieve. These can be short term (finish my English essay) or long term (achieve an A* in Maths A level). Either way, the more specific your goal is, the easier it will be to achieve. Furthermore, the act of writing down your goals is proven to make them more likely to happen. When you write down what you want to achieve, it is no longer just a thought, it’s a real thing you can see, and you can make it happen. Try writing your goals on Post-it notes and stick them near the desk in your room.

2. Make lists

Lists are a great way to keep organised. At the start of the day or week, write down all the things you need to do. Then number them in order of importance so that you can get the most important things done first. As you do these things you can tick them off and feel one step closer to your free time to spend with your friends.

3. Ask questions

Being in the classroom is the best time to ask lot of questions about your work or subject. Your teachers are there to help and guide you so ask as many questions as you need to feel confident about your work. If you get stuck and your teachers aren’t around, you can always ask your classmates who may need your help too.

4. Relax

It’s very important that you don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It’s a great idea to set goals and aim high, but remember to make sure your expectations are realistic. A good phrase to remember is ‘big goals, small steps, realistic expectations’. This way you will not be too hard on yourself and you’ll avoid getting stressed. Make sure you put aside some time every week to spend with your friends, read a book or play some sport. Having a hobby to take your mind off work will help you focus more when you need to.

5. Schedule Your Time

When you arrive at Bellerbys you will be given a class timetable. This will help you to organise how you spend your time. This is a really good thing to do, especially when you know you have a lot of work to do. If there’s something you need to practise or learn, scheduling a regular time in your timetable each week will help you make it happen.
